The Task
We were appointed by the late CEO of Variety Cruises, Mr. Lakis Venetopoulos, to design a newbuilding that was both inexpensive to build and full of luxury features for her passengers.
The Harmony A was designed and built from scratch exclusively in Greece and the interiors were designed in collaboration with the famous designer, Mr. Lally Poulias.
We designed and ensured that the vessel conforms with the strict regulations of SOLAS (Safety Of Life At Sea) and the guidelines of the American Bureau of Shipping.
The Outcome
The Harmony A declares once again that Greece is home to the best craftsmen who are able to build exquisite vessels to the highest standards of the worldwide market.
The 68m. passenger vessel has been cruising in the Greek and international waters with her happy customers since 2012 and will continue to do so for many years to come.
The Process
How we drafted, designed and contributed in building a 68m. passenger vessel
Concept Design
The owner wanted a ship that would be instantly recognizable and different from the other commercial vessels. We created concepts with unique lines and exterior styling that gave a unique and elegant personality to the ship.
Basic Design
After the exterior design and styling was approved, we produced the initial General Arrangement plan, together with the basic construction drawings which helped in the calculation for the materials and the budget needed to complete the construction.
Detailed Design
In the detailed design phase, we transformed the conceptual and basic design into a precise and comprehensive set of documents that guided the shipyard through the construction process.
